UPDATE: The 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG has been revealed. Click here for all the info and photos.

These are the latest spy shots of the upcoming 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG luxury convertible.

Sporting less camo than we've ever seen before, the details of the car's body are becoming much clearer, with many of the performance modifications visible despite efforts to hide them.

Most notable are the larger air intakes, cross-drilled and larger brake rotors, upgraded calipers, and new front spoiler shape. Also easily spotted are the quad exhaust pipes and new rear diffuser design.

Under the new SL63 AMG's hood is the latest 'M157' 5.5-liter twin-turbo AMG V-8, which is most likely cranking out a meaty 571 horsepower. If that number looks familiar, it should: that's the rating on the SLS AMG and the same output most likely destined for the 2013 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG also in the works.

Looking at the thin camo fitment, that may not be the only similarity the new SL bears to the SLS. The front end looks decidedly SLS-like, though that may just be misdirection to hide the recently revealed 2013 SL's pointy-nose design. If not, we have to question the aesthetics of the blunt SLS-style nose on the SL's body.

Look out for a debut of this 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG in the coming weeks, possibly with an official unveiling at March's 2012 Geneva Motor Show. Incidentally, the first example to be delivered to a customer in the U.S. will be going up for auction in late February.

We'll keep you up to the minute on the latest images and details as they emerge, but for now, study the photos and let us know what you think is in store for the next SL63 AMG.
