2013 Nissan GT-R (Japanese spec)

The Tokyo Auto Salon, Japan’s version of SEMA, always has a number of exciting models on show, and more often than not those models are gracing the stands of Nissan.

With top-performers like the GT-R supercar and 370Z sports car, it’s easy to see why, but like in previous years Nissan will be showcasing a full assortment of tuned mobiles at the 2012 Tokyo Auto Salon taking place next month.

Nissan will present a total of 10 different models, ranging from high-performance supercars to zero-emission electric cars and even a range of modified commercial vans.  

The star attraction on Nissan’s stands will undoubtedly be the new 2013 GT-R, which will be fitted with the Japanese-spec Track Pack.

Also featuring will be a dedicated Nismo area. Nissan is keep to promote its performance brand and will be showing off several of the brand’s motorsport-inspired models including the recently revealed Juke Nismo and Leaf Nismo concept cars as well as the latest 370Z Nismo model.

As for the modified commercial vehicles, these will include the NV350 Caravan Rider, a customized van with a taller-than-usual ride height, the Elgrand Rider, another van that gets a tuned engine, suspension and body, and the Serena Rider van, which also benefits from some suspension mods.

Finally, a pair of Nissan race cars will be on show: the MOTUL AUTECH GT-R from the 2011 Super GT series and the Leaf Nismo RC prototype electric racer.

In 2012 the Tokyo Auto Salon will be held January 13-15, at the Makuhari Messe exhibition hall in Chiba prefecture.
