2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

The introduction of the 650-horsepower Shelby GT500 Mustang may have knocked the wind out of the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1’s sails just a bit, but at the end of the day the Chevy still represents great value considering the level of performance you get for its $54,995 asking price, and after watching these videos we bet you’ll be hard-pressed to decide which one you love more.

The guys at Camaro5 have dug up six new videos of the Camaro ZL1, detailing both the coupe and convertible variants.

They include close-ups of the exterior, cabin, and engine bay, and showcase the modern-day muscle car attacking some inviting mountain roads and a track.

While it may not have 650 horsepower to play around with, the ZL1’s supercharged LSA engine output of 580 horsepower and 556 pound-feet of torque is nothing to sneeze at. It ensures you’ll be able to rocket to 60 mph from rest in just 3.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 184 mph, numbers comparable to a supercar’s bragging rights not that long ago and simply amazing for ZL1’s price.
