Jenson Button and Sebastian Vettel

Red Bull Racing star Sebastian Vettel has done it again, securing (another) eleventh-hour pole position for tomorrow’s 2011 Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix at the famous Suzuka Circuit.

Vettel worked his way up each of the three qualifying sessions earlier today, before finally snatching the pole spot in his last outing.

Starting at second on the grid will be McLaren’s Jenson Button, followed by his team-mate Lewis Hamilton on third.

Sitting at fourth and five spots will be Ferrari drivers Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso, respectively.

As we previously reported, Sebastian Vettel needs just one more point to take out the 2011 Formula World Championship and with his pole position it certainly looks set to happen tomorrow.

Going into the race, Vettel leads the Drivers’ Championship points table with 309 points, followed by Button on 185 points and Alonso on 184 points.

In the Constructors’ Championship, Red Bull Racing remains unstoppable with 491 points, followed by McLaren on 353 points and Ferrari on 268 points.

Stay tuned for our continuing coverage of the 2011 Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix, with a weather forecast coming early tomorrow and full race results on Monday.
