Having already taken to the track in anger at the Nurburgring, and being rumored for production all the while, Aston Martin's V12 Zagato is officially going to be built for retail. The announcement cites positive customer reaction as the driving force.

It won't exactly be mass-market, however, with just 150 examples to be built from a starting price of £330,000, or about $525,000. It's powered by Aston's 510 horsepower 6.0-liter V-12 engine. Deliveries are expected to start in the second half of 2012.

The V12 Zagato's production won't be fast, either, as each aluminum and carbon fiber model will be hand-built at Aston's Gaydon headquarters, right down to the use of traditional metal shaping on an English wheel and body bucks.
