Though the car is based on the latest 2012 BMW M5, it gets a few subtle details for its MotoGP safety car duties.
These include the full livery you see here, as well as a lightweight Akropovic titanium exhaust system, high performance coilover suspension, new spoilers front and rear, Recaro bucket seats, and 20-inch wheels.
The safety car also swaps many of the standard model’s chrome accents, such as the side vents and kidney grille, in favor of simple black units.
The engine has been left untouched, which means peak output from the twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8 is likely to come in at around 560 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque. However, that Akropovic exhaust is sure to have liberated some ponies.
