Audi may have ditched plans for its own baby R8, the long-rumored R4 sports car, but the guys from Project Kahn have stepped up to the challenge and built the new TR8 based on the Audi TT. Admittedly, the TT is a front-engined compact sports car, which in base trim only drives the front wheels and was never going to be comparable with the proposed R4, but the changes Project Kahn has made to the car are certainly worth a mention.

Starting with the Audi TT 2.0 FSI, Project Kahn adds a custom bodykit that includes new vented bumpers front and rear, as well as a rear spoiler. The bumpers have also been styled to resemble the units on the R8 supercar, right down to the mesh inserts and front grille. To complete the look, Project Kahn also adds a pair of custom R8 style side blades.

Other touches include a stainless steel quad exhaust system, lowered suspension, a front lip spoiler and steel side mirror housings.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a true Project Kahn vehicle without a stylish set of wheels and the new TR8 certainly doesn’t disappoint in this area. It gets 20-inch ‘RSV’ alloy wheels shod with sport tires.

Inside is a complete bespoke interior design available to suit individual tastes. By buying a Project Kahn vehicle, you are given the opportunity to really make it your own by modifying the trim.
