It just made its U.S. debut at last week’s 2011 New York Auto Show and now we have the all-important pricing details. We’re of course talking about the funky new 2012 Fiat 500 Cabrio, or 500c for short, which goes on sale in the coming months, just in time for summer.

The four-seater 500 Cabrio will be priced from $20,000, including a $500 destination charge, which is almost a full $5,000 less than one of its closest rivals, the MINI Cooper Convertible. Opt for a fully loaded model in ‘Lounge’ trim, however, and you’re looking at sticker price of around $26,000.

All models come powered by a 101 horsepower 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine matched to a five-speed manual as standard. A six-speed automatic is available and there’s no word yet if a high-performance Abarth model will be launched.

Standard features include 15-inch steel wheels, air-conditioning, a leather trimmed steering wheel and seven airbags. Some optional goodies include a $1,250 Bose premium stereo, a $100 full-size spare tire and $399 for an Italian flag decal.

You can build your one 500 Cabrio using Fiat’s newly launched online configurator by visiting www.fiatusa.com.
