The new 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 is without doubt the number one choice for performance fans looking for a fun muscle car with sedan practicality and a thumping V-8, well, that is if it has to be a Dodge. But for a significant chunk of less change, the mid-level 2011 Dodge Charger R/T offers plenty of Hemi-induced fun and a similar splashing of aggressive design.

Not many sensory perceptions can equal the throb of a massive V-8 in full mating call, and the Hemi under the hood of the Charger R/T is one of the best around when it comes to aural pleasure. The 5.7-liter belts out 370 horsepower with the thrilling force of great gospel music--and you won't be shocked if the 0-60 mph numbers flying around put this R/T in the 5.5-second range.

Beyond the engine, the latest Dodge Charger R/T, along with the rest of the Charger range, leaves little doubt as to where inspiration for their design has come from.

With direct design influence from the 1968 to 1970 Dodge Charger coupes, the new Charger four-door sports a scalloped hood, custom molding on its flanks, muscular fenders, and a unique 164-LED ‘race-track’ silhouette design for the tail-lights.
