Remember the special edition ‘Frozen Gray’ BMW M3 launched in the U.S. last year? The one that sold out in just 12 minutes? Well, China has now received its own matte-painted special edition M3, also built to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the first M3.

Like its U.S. counterpart, the Chinese special edition M3 was also sold out virtually in a heartbeat.

For those few lucky buyers that were able to secure one, they will be receiving a car finished in an exclusive matte-blank paint scheme and decked out with a carbon fiber infused cabin. There is also 19-inch glossy alloy wheels, black chrome side air intakes and exhaust pipes, red brake calipers, and red stitching on the seats and door arm rests.

No changes have been made under the hood, which means power still comes from a high-rev 4.0-liter V-8 rated at 414 horsepower. This is enough to send the car from 0-62 mph in a blistering 4.7 seconds.

In case you were wondering, BMW only plans to build 250 examples of the new M3 Tiger Matte Edition exclusively for the Chinese market.
