At this year’s Geneva event, Brabus will once again be showing off its latest wares, this time using the new 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS as its blank canvas.
You may recognize Brabus as a builder of some of the fastest four-doors on the planet, but now the company is focused on paring sporty and elegant designs with aerodynamic efficiency. For the new CLS, body components were developed in the wind tunnel and constructed with a flexible composite material called Pur-R-Rim.
The list of aero components includes a new front spoiler, LED bumper caps, new fenders and side sills, and an aggressive rear bumper. A custom rear spoiler finishes off the look.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper Brabus without some engine mods and in this area the most powerful unit for now--expect some insane V-12 upgrades further down the track--is the CLS 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY model, which puts out a healthy 309 horsepower and 509 pound-feet of torque. Acceleration from 0-62 mph passes in just 5.9 seconds and top speed is an electronically controlled 155 mph.
Some of the other modifications include a high-flow exhaust, sports tuned suspension and custom 20 inch wheels. Inside, there are Brabus embroidered leather and Alcantara trim, a sports steering wheel and illuminated scuff plates.
