The Tesla Roadster has proved that light weight and a flat torque curve can do wonders. Now at least one owner has put his car through the paces on an autocross.

Watching the little roadster tear around the track provides a different visceral experience than watching, say a big V-8 sports car or a revvy V-6. The first thing you notice--the lack of internal-combustion engine sounds. It takes some getting used to.

But get used to it, we must, because if electric vehicle technology continues to evolve and become more sporting, we'll be seeing a lot more electric vehicles at track days.
