You first saw the 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show, and at that time we learned most of the key details. But we didn't have a bevy of beautiful images beyond the live shots of the matte-finished car on the show floor. Now we do.

Along with the new images released today, Mercedes-Benz has also released full stats on the car's performance and fuel economy. Acceleration is impressive for a car of its size, getting to 62 mph in just 4.4 seconds, or 4.3 seconds with the optional AMG Performance package, which raises output from 525 horsepower to 557. Fuel economy is pretty solid as well, thanks to the direct injection and turbo charging in the new 5.5-liter V-8: the combined EU cycle rating is 23.7 mpg.

Top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph, and the CLS63 AMG comes exclusively with the AMG SpeedShift MCT seven-speed transmission. Start-stop, or "Controlled Efficiency" mode is also standard, indicated when in action by a green "ECO" symbol on the dash. Several other modes range from comfort cruiser to full manual, allowing the driver to get the most from the car in any situation.

We'll be testing the CLS63 AMG in full next week, so check back soon for the full details, our take on the car's ride, handling, power, and value, plus a slew of new original photography.
