Ford had its new 2012 C-Max minivan on show at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show this week, revealing the latest model to be spun-off its flexible C-segment platform. While the gasoline version, which you can see live shots of by clicking here, is a stretched version of the model already on sale in Europe, Ford had a pair of concepts based on the shorter Euro model on show in Detroit as well.

These were a preview of new hybrid and plug-in hybrid C-Max models due to hit showrooms over the next couple of years. Pictured here are live shots of the plug-in hybrid model, which goes by the name C-Max Energi.

Ford is yet to reveal any technical details though we know the hybrid duo will come with lithium-ion batteries and be some of the most fuel-efficient models in their class. For more details check our previous story by clicking here.
