The funky little hatchback we've come to like seeing at autoshows will finally be making its way onto the street and the showroom floor this week, following a brief delay due to labor disputes at a South Korean plant where it is built. But only in Korea. We will have to wait until the second half of the year.

So what makes the Veloster funky? Aside from the upside-down mustache grille, the wide and low headlight layout, and the chopped rear end, there's the two-door/one-door layout. It has all kinds of character before you even get inside.

The interior is attractive, reflecting Hyundai's latest advances in delivering a high-quality, well-styled cabin on a budget. We're looking forward to getting behind the wheel of one--particularly the rumored turbo version--and bringing you our first impressions.
