It’s already touched U.S. soil, having made an appearance at last year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, but the first Bugatti Veyron Super Sport to be officially delivered to the U.S. has touched ground. Of course, we’re talking about the current world record holder for the fastest production car, which is now in the safe hands of Californian prestige automotive dealer Symbolic Motors.

The particular model is the ultra-rare Veyron Super Sport ‘World Record Edition’ of which only five are being built. They are finished in the special orange and exposed carbon fiber theme and are the only cars capable of reaching the official 268 mph world record speed. The other 25 Veyron Super Sports destined for production have their top speeds limited to 258 mph in order to preserve their tires.

All Veyron Super Sports, however, come with the same 1,200 horsepower and 1,106 pound-feet of torque quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W-16 engine, capable of 0-62 mph times of 2.5 seconds and the aforementioned world-beating top speed.

Although almost certainly accounted for, the first U.S. delivered Veyron Super Sport has a sticker price of $2.7 million in case you were wondering. Enjoy the video below and for full details on the car, click here for our original story. Then click here for our mega-gallery.
