The 2011 Saab 9-4X made its official debut at last week's Los Angeles Auto Show, and in case you missed it--it looks pretty much exactly like we all expected it to. What's unusual, however, is how Saab is pre-selling the crossover: buy an iPad from a Saab dealer to hold your place in line, and get a $500 credit when your vehicle shows up.

It's far from the first association of iPad with automobile (Hyundai's Equus being perhaps the world's most expensive and functional iPad case to date) but it's a fairly unique use of the high-tech integration. The move clearly points toward Saab's targets for customer and product experience, as well as defining the target market.
