It looks as though Japan’s earthquake crisis won’t hamper deliveries of Nissan’s long-awaited 2012 model year GT-R supercar. As we all know the facelifted 2012 Nissan GT-R is substantially quicker and more powerful than the outgoing model, as well as being greener, and we can’t wait to get our hands on one.

We had previously reported that many GT-R enthusiasts had held off from buying the 2011 model in waiting for this one, and that the earthquake could have delayed shipments. According to Nissan, enough vehicles were already in the country or shipped before the earthquake in order for deliveries to take place as planned.

Nissan spokesman Rich Latek confirmed that all 620 dealers that usually stock the GT-R will get their allotted vehicles on time, and possibly even more if sales prove promising.

The 2012 Nissan GT-R officially goes on sale this month, with the ‘Premium’ version starting at $89,950 and the ‘Black Edition’ at $95,100.
