The 2011 Chicago Auto Show is just a day away now and in its lead up we have news that a facelifted version of the award-winning Hyundai Genesis sedan will be unveiled in The Windy City.

The information was revealed by the automaker’s U.S. chief, John Krafcik, who said the facelifted 2012 Hyundai Genesis will debut in Chicago and come packing a more powerful 429 horsepower version of the current Tau V-8. The extra output is courtesy of a bump in displacement of the Genesis’ V-8 engine from 4.6 to 5.0-liters.

The latest model is set to go on sale in late March and will be priced between $45,000 and $50,000. The base 3.8-liter V-6 engine with 305 horsepower on tap should remain in the lineup.

A host of other updates are expected, including new styling both inside and out. Previous spy shots have revealed new head and tail lamp designs and slightly revised exhaust tips. There’s also word that Hyundai may debut its new eight-speed automatic transmission in the latest Genesis as well.

Press days for the Chicago event kick off on tomorrow, February 9. In the meantime, you can follow our complete coverage of the show by clicking here.
