The Volkswagen Group shakeup following acquisition of Porsche, and its many highly-skilled executives, continues, this time with former Porsche executive vice-president Wolfgang Duerheimer taking over the lead position at Bentley from Dr. Franz-Josef Paefgen.

Volkswagen AG's board of management chairman Dr. Martin Winterkorn said of Duerheimer's appointment to Chariman and CEO of Bentley, "Wolfgang Duerheimer personifies the outstanding technical competency of Porsche. He will bring this expertise and his experience to Bentley and Bugatti, helping them maintain their leading positions within the luxury segment."

The move comes on the heels of talk of Porsche and Bentley sharing platforms and other technology, including a possible four-door coupe model pased on the Panamera's platform. Duerheimer's appointment to the top spot at Bentley is likely intended to ease that integration.
