Nissan will use the 2012 Detroit Auto Show for the global debut of two new concept vehicles, including the next-generation Pathfinder SUV and an electric powered commercial van.

The Pathfinder concept will preview the new look and “attitude” of the next generation Nissan SUV, set to launch in the fall of 2012 as a 2013 model. According to Car and Driver, the next Pathfinder will (again) shed its ladder frame for a unibody construction, and share a platform with the all-new Infiniti JX and the existing Nissan Murano.

Nissan isn’t giving any details on the electric van concept, but we suppose it will be the battery-powered version of the Nissan NV200, as being tested by FedEx in London, England. The electric NV200 van uses the batteries and drivetrain from the Nissan Leaf,  so it can also be quick-charged to 80 percent of capacity in 30 minutes using a DC Fast Charge system.

Nissan will also highlight the versatility of the NV200 van by demonstrating one configured as a food truck with a “local Detroit flair.” The van will be used for media hospitality during the show’s two press days.
