The 2011 Chrysler 200 sedan just poked its face into the wild a couple of weeks ago, and already the drop-top variant is expected to come along in just over two more weeks at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show.

The model was announced as one of the many debuts scheduled for the show. Though the new 200 wears a restyled face, there's still more than a little Sebring poking out at odd intervals. The Convertible could help further distinguish the 200 from its much-maligned (and often deservedly so) predecessor.

Or, it could become the new "Michael Scott car": the company-car convertible for failing-upward middle management everywhere. There are worse fates, but fleet sales are already a likely given for the 200 family anyway.

Powertrain and features for the convertible should be near-identical to the sedan, including the 2.4-liter four-cylinder world engine and the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6. Whether the folding top will be hard or soft remains to be seen, though neither outcome would surprise us.
