Infiniti's presence at Pebble Beach is impressive, but you might be left questioning the merit of its latest unveiling, the 2011 G37 Coupe IPL, after reading its decidedly NISMO 370Z-like stats. But as is often the case with a purely paper analysis, that doesn't give you the whole picture. This gallery fills in the blanks.

It's not a rival to the BMW M3 or Mercedes C63 AMG, and it's not trying to be. Instead, it's an upgraded, more powerful, and more aggressively styled G37 S Coupe--it's a better version of itself. Some might call that a cop-out, but at under $50,000, the price just might be right for the driver that doesn't really need 400+ horsepower and the fuel bill that comes with it.

As for its presence at Pebble Beach, the photos in the gallery above, shot just a few minutes ago near the shore behind the lodge, are proof that it certainly looks like it's in its element. We'll have to wait until we can get behind the wheel to pass judgment on the car's dynamics, but we're expecting good things--the standard G37 Coupe is no slouch in the luxury two-door realm.
