Remember BMW’s new Performance Edition kit designed for the 335i range? Well, it turns out the kit will also be available for the BMW 135i when it goes on sale this August.

In case you’ve forgotten, the kit is a performance and styling upgrade for cars equipped with the single-turbo 3.0-liter straight-six BMW engine, otherwise known as the N55. It essentially turns up the heat on the engine, enabling it to dish out 20 more horsepower and 32 more pound-feet of torque.

This means that with the kit installed, peak output on the 135i will now come in at 320 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, which should guarantee slightly better acceleration and a new top speed (once the electronic limiter is removed).

The dealer installed Performance Edition package also includes black grilles and grille surrounds, as well as special badging to ensure onlookers know your 135i isn’t some regular run of the mill model.

Expect pricing of the kit to come in at the same $550 level that 335i owners will pay, which we think is a bargain given the additional performance gained.
