The wing is back, and it's $1,000 cheaper than the hatch. Starting from $33,995, the STI four-door will be the least expensive entry into the hairy end of Subaru's range, though those with a taste for more luxury will have the option of upgrading to the Limited package for a starting price of $37,345.

Prices are up $500-$1,000 across the board for the standard WRX and WRX STI hatchback. The 2011 WRX starts from $25,495, a $500 increase over last year's model, and for the price it gets new front and rear bumpers, STI-like wide fenders, and a new WRX logo fender badge. For those wanting a bit more from their WRX, but not wanting to upgrade to the STI's more focused performance, the Premium package adds the all-weather package, moonroof, fog lights and a trunk spoiler for $27,995, while the WRX Limited throws in HID headlights and leather-trimmed upholstery. Both Premium and Limited can be upgraded with navigation.

The 2011 WRX STI five-door starts from $34,995 in standard trim, with a retuned suspension featuring improved bushings, larger anti-roll bars, stiffer springs and "improved steering feel." Both four- and five-door models can be had in Limited guise, which bumps the price to $35,995 for the five-door and, curiously, $37,345 for the sedan. A look at the standard Limited features list explains the discrepancy: the Limited four-door comes with 18-inch BBS wheels, a moonroof, fog lights and leather trimmed upholstery, while the Limited five-door only gets the wheels standard.

All WRXs and STIs also get a new mesh grille, upgraded audio system with Bluetooth audio and phone support, auxiliary input, USB/iPod connectivity, and optional XM/Sirius radio. Add a delivery fee of $725 to all of these prices for the sticker you'll see on dealer lots.
