Volkswagen Golf GTI Adidas Edition

Volkswagen Golf GTI Adidas Edition

Earlier this week we brought you details of seven new customized Audi A1 hatchbacks that will be on display at the upcoming Wörthersee Tour 2010 and now we have the first details on two more specials that will be shown at the Austrian tuner-fest. The Volkswagen Golf GTI Excessive and Adidas concepts are a factory-custom design study that will eventually spawn production models for the European market this June.

The Excessive is the sportier of the two and comes with an aggressive new bodykit, blacked-out 19 inch wheels and semi-slick tires. The car also comes with a wider track than the standard model, stiffer springs and dampers, a high-performance braking system and a high-flow exhaust.

Also on show is the Golf GTI Adidas, which features bi-xenon headlights, LED taillights, unique 18 inch alloys, sporty bucket seats and Adidas-inspired trim.

No changes have been made to the powertrains of either models, which mean they’re both fitted with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 207 horsepower and 206 pound-feet of torque on tap. This is enough to send either model from 0-62 mph in 6.9 seconds and to a top speed of 155 mph.
