At last year's New York Auto Show, Suzuki pulled cloth off the 2011 Kizashi Sport, a more aggressive, little fireball with a 185-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. The model was the production version of the Kizashi 3 concept, which Suzuki debuted at the 2008 New York show.

Well, this year, Suzuki plans to continue its New York/Kizashi tradition, unveiling two new concept versions of its mid-sized sedan.

Suzuki hasn't gotten into too much detail on either offering, but described the first one as a "stylish and socially-conscious sedan propelled by a newly-developed advanced powertrain." Read: hybrid.

Suzuki first mentioned a hybrid Kizashi when the original Kizashi sedan debuted at the 2009 North American International Auto Show. At the time, the company said that the hybrid model would launch "in the very near future," but it took until now to see it.

The second model is a bit more of a mystery. Suzuki describes it as a "wildly-schemed and amped up homage to Suzuki's iconic motorcycle heritage." I'd like to think that it's some kind of three- or four-wheeled motorcycle (that would be rad), but it's more likely just a special edition Kizachi with styling cues pulled straight off of Suzuki bikes. Whatever it is, a sporty car with motorcycle inspiration shouldn't be a bad thing.

The 2011 New York Auto Show is open to the media on April 20 and 21 and to the public on April 22 to May 1. We'll have more details and pictures once Suzuki drops them.
