Kia will debut the all-new ex_cee’d cabrio concept at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, where it'll join the cee’d wagon and hybrid Rio production models on the Korean automaker’s stand. Penned by Kia’s new Chief Design Officer, Peter Schreyer, the ex_cee’d hints at a possible future styling direction for the budget brand.

Based on the new three-door cee’d hatchback, due to go into production at the Zilina factory in Slovakia in December, the ex_cee’d shares the same platform, but features all-new exterior panels and a powered folding fabric roof. Bucking the trend towards folding hardtops, its designers are convinced that the fabric roof will have a renaissance in coming years.

Other features include the chrome finished 19in alloys, muscular flanks and vibrant color themes. The exterior is finished in ‘meringue white,’ while the roof features a ‘bitter chocolate’ trim. Why can’t Kia style more of its cars like this one? If it did we’re sure they’d sell like crazy.
