Despite rising fuel costs, the Big Three can’t resist releasing new versions of their road behemoths, in this case Ford’s Expedition SUV. The car has been updated with a 6-speed automatic transmission as well as a modified IRS setup, which provides surprisingly good handling for such a large vehicle. Of most significance are the changes to the interior, which now includes a full sized third row capable of seating 3 adults and 60/40 split-folding.

Buyers of large SUVs have been burned recently with rapidly falling resale values. If Ford and GM are to turn profitable, they must work on increasing the quality of their small to mid-sized vehicles.
