With the brand new XF sports sedan due for 2008, Jaguar has given the S-type a nip'n'tuck for its last year on sale. For the 2008 Model Year, all S-TYPE versions feature an updated front end, with the addition of the sporting S-TYPE R bumper and mesh grille to all models.

A new series of alloy wheels have also been introduced. Entry level versions now come with the multi-spoke 17-inch Antares wheel as standard. The 18-inch Triton alloy wheel is standard on all SE models, while the top-of-the-range S-TYPE R now comes with the 19-inch wheels as standard. The S-TYPE’s interior is also upgraded, with the introduction of multi-function Sport seats (with non-perforated leather) instead of the previous Classic seat for all SE and Sport models. Entry-level S-TYPE models come with a leather-trimmed steering wheel as standard, while a new Satin Mahogany veneer is available as an option across the range. Choice is further extended with the option of a new Ivory and Charcoal leather colour combination for SE models. All new models will also come with Rear Park Assist as standard.

We’ve always like the Jaguar S-type, but this new look just seems a little strange. It’s almost as if a tuning company has taken the S-type and tacked on the front bumper without thinking about making the whole body looks cohesive. What do you think?
