The owner of a bright orange Lamborghini Gallardo in Japan has been arrested after posting a video online of a stunt where his car is seen driving in the western part of the city of Hiroshima at speeds of up to 100 mph.

The local speed limit for the area his car is seen racing through, almost two years ago, is just 37 mph.

The owner of the car, a 38-year-old male, is alleged to have been the driver, and was arrested only yesterday when some viewers that saw the video online reported it to police.

His car, not unlike the one pictured below, was fitted with a dash-mounted camera.

It is powered by a 5.0-liter V-10 engine rated at 513 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque. Matched to an all-wheel drive system, the engine can accelerate the car from 0-60 mph in 4.0 seconds flat and see it reach a top speed of 196 mph.

Following his arrest, Yahoo! Sports, citing AFP, reports the man said: "I enjoyed the sound of the engine and the speed."

He is now facing several charges for various traffic violations.

Part of the original video is still viewable in the YouTube clip above.
