Volkswagen is joining the throngs headed out to Las Vegas for the SEMA show starting tomorrow. Among its offerings will be a 2009 Jetta TDI Cup Car, a TDI Cup 'Street' Edition concept, the CC 'Gold Coast' Edition shown at Pebble Beach this year, and the Tiguan Performance Concept. The race car is the highlight of the show, offering an insight into the series founded this year to help build motorsports careers for young drivers.

Bringing the car to SEMA is also likely in part a marketing ploy for the series itself, which just completed its first season in operation. Featuring a range of drivers mostly between the ages of 16 and 26, the series is focused on developing new talent and offering a venue for VW products in the American racing world.

The TDI Cup 'Street' Edition Concept will play off the success of the TDI Cup race car, offering race-car styling and upgraded handling dynamics in a streetable package. The car will be powered by a 2.0L TDI engine, rated at 140hp (104kW) and 236lb-ft (320Nm) of torque. VW hasn't yet disclosed any other details on the car.

The Tiguan Performance Concept will bring some serious punch to the Tiguan, adding a three-stage turbo kit that wrings 312hp (233kW) and 319lb-ft (432Nm) of torque out of the crossover's stock powerplant. A custom Rockford Fosgate sound system and appearance package give the Tiguan Performance Concept the sound and appearance to match its ability.

Finally, there's the CC 'Gold Coast' Edition Concept. Shown earlier this year at Pebble Beach, the car offers upgraded interior features, a special high-end tri-coat paint finish, and a new ground effects kit to better show off the stylish coupe-sedan's lines.
