General Motors will be showing its upcoming 2010 Pontiac G8 ST at the 2008 SEMA show in Las Vegas, however, unlike the concept version shown at the New York Auto Show this latest model will be much closer to the final production version due next year. As such, the SEMA show car is expected to preview some of the more interesting accessories that GM will offer as options for the ST when it is finally released.

Inside, red leather inserts adorn the seats, steering wheel and gear selector, and all of these are expected to be offered on the production version as luxury options. One feature that is unlikely to make production is the striking ‘Liquid Hot’ paint scheme, however similar bright colors may still appear on the ST options list.

Other features include a new tonneau cover, which is expected to be available in both soft-cloth and hard forms, as well as color matched to the rest of the vehicle’s exterior. The SEMA ST also features a lowered suspension kit and chunky 20in alloy wheels.

The G8 ST is on track to make its U.S. debut in late 2009 as a 2010 model, and should pick up the same 361hp (269kW) V8 as the G8 GT performance sedan. A 3.6L engine will also be available, however it won’t be the same V6 unit found in the base G8 sedan. Instead, it is expected to be the direct-injected 3.6L V6 used in the Cadillac CTS.
