Volvo is yet to reveal engine specs for the final production version but previous reports claim the range will start with a 1.8L petrol unit, followed by a 2.5L turbo and a 3.2L six. Diesel models will include 1.8L and 2.3L engines.
The XC60 will have a lot of strong competitors when it hits the streets next year. Some of its rivals include cars like the upcoming Mercedes GLK and Audi Q5 as well as the current BMW X3, Land Rover Freelander/LR2 and VW Tiguan.

Is this based off the S60??? It looks like it has the proportions of the Kuga which is on the C1 (aka S40) platform. or maybe this is a mondeo/S60 crossover as the name suggests??

Can't wait to see production version. I truly hope they won't ruin this concept (as far too often that happens in auto industry).

Chris, it's one size larger than the Kuga. The XC60's platform is called EUCD, the same as the Mondeo III, Galaxy II, S-Max, Freelander II, current S80/V70 and also the future S60(/V50?).
