The accident took place on a stretch of the A58 highway in the Netherlands. Images of the wreck, which turned up on the website of local news source Brabants Dagblad, show the car was completely wrecked and must have been travelling considerably fast before crashing.
Investigators are yet to release details about how fast the car was going and whether or not the occupants were wearing seatbelts and if the driver’s son had a proper child-seat installed.

So not wearing seatbelts pays sometimes?
With the seatbelts on, the two would've had to endure the impact inside the car, but by being thrown outside, they survive.
Confusing... maybe it's Ferrari's safety feature to "eject" passengers.

The passenger cell looks intact still so its not hard to see why they would not have died. Not wearing a seatbelt is plain stupid and who knows what long term damage his young son might now have.

I fully agree.
They would have been much better off strapped in, and for the little one to not have been strapped into a 5-point child seat that was properly anchored and tightened is a crime, plain and simple.
Sounds like some rich moron got cocky and almost killed his kid because of it.

And, since it's the Netherlands, he will probably be severly charged as such, knowing how strict they are about safety laws, especially with regards to children.

Exactly. Seat belts are life-savers.
I was being sarcastic on my previous post.

I really can't believe the outright disregard some people have for their kids. What kind of a father drives really fast in a Ferrari while his infant son is in it and not wearing a seat belt. I hope he gets charged with reckless endangerment or something along those lines. I hope child services doesn't get involved though, that really just ruins the kids life. I'm 18 and I still consider myself a kid and I really wouldn't want to be taken by child services and be taken away from my family if I was a little kid.
