The once cash-strapped Seat brand is on the verge of developing a range of new models, starting with a mid-sized sports sedan positioned above its Leon hatch. Parent company Volkswagen wants to expand Seat’s product lines to help the Spanish carmaker increase its sales. Thanks to an injection of funds from VW, Seat will be able to develop several new models and at the same time lift its profile in new markets.

Speaking with executives at the Geneva Motor Show, Autovisie were able to gather details about one of the new models, which is said to be a new mid-sized sports sedan. Customers are demanding larger models with better quality than the currently available Leon and Altea line of cars. But before the sedan is released, we’ll see a production version of the Altea Freetrack concept that’s due for release in the second half of this year.

Seat is also rumored to be developing a more performance oriented model based on its Tango concept pictured above.

From the side looks a bit like a BMW Z4… just more refined. Rather bland hood but I like how the hood line runs back across the side of the vehicle.
