New MINI variant to be called the Clubman

MINI has announced that its new model, due for launch by the end of the year, will be labeled the MINI Clubman. The car will be based on a concept car displayed at the Frankfurt Motor Show back in 2005, which featured a ‘Shooting Brake’ styled body, but this latest rendering gives the closest indication as to how the new Clubman will look like.

As previously reported, the Clubman receives smaller suicide-style rear doors as well as new headlamps and a higher-positioned bonnet. There are rumors that the rear door will feature a split opening system, while the roof can be optioned with a pair of sunroofs.

MINI has also revealed its new Convertible Sidewalk at the Geneva Motor Show, which goes on sale on the 14th of April. The new car features a choice of four paintwork colors, 17” Night Spoke light alloy wheels, bi-color leather steering wheel and gear knob and special ‘Sidewalk’ interior trim, floor mats, badges and door inserts.
