The John Cooper Works name is synonymous with the Mini brand, the partnership dating back almost 50 years, so it’s not surprising that the British-based tuner along with Mini have formed a new sub-brand. Aptly named the ‘Works,’ the new sub-brand will be responsible for all performance related products and activities for the entire Mini range, including the popular power upgrade kits sold under the John Cooper Works label. All John Cooper Works performance components are designed to fit with factory precision and offer the same reliability and build quality you’d expect for a car from the BMW Group.

The first tuning kit is the new Cooper S Force package. It consists of a sports air-filter, high-flow exhaust, and a modified ECU, which when combined lifts power to 192hp (141kW). The cars can also be dressed up with custom aero pieces, uprated suspension, red-painted callipers, lightweight alloy wheels and performance brake pads. Interiors can also be customized with exotic materials such as carbon-fiber and Alcantara, and customers can also have the standard seats replaced with a set of new John Cooper Works sports seats.
