The pioneer of the four-door coupe niche, the Mercedes CLS line ranges from luxurious traveler to raging powerhouse - in stock form. The stock CLS 500 slots in between those two extremes, but Lorinser’s version closes part of the gap to the range-topping CLS 63 AMG with power upgrades and a redesigned look.

Adding a full 72hp (53kW) to the already stout V8 engine, the CLS 500 is re-badged the Lorinser L 55 R-S, with a full 460hp (338kW) and 585Nm of torque on tap. That kind of power is enough to push the rather large car up to its 186mph (300km/h) top speed.

Power isn’t the only addition to the mix, however, as Lorinser also adds a unique set of aerodynamic and styling features. A new front bumper with integrated spoiler and fog lights, side-sills, a rear boot lid spoiler and a redesigned rear apron give the L 55 R-S a subtly lower, meaner look.

Of course the car is fitted with the obligatory 20-inch alloy wheels and graced with a custom interior. Blue lighting in the door sills, a sport steering wheel and carbon fiber trim throughout complete the Lorinser treatment.
