Toyota’s Prius has achieved the honor of being the first hybrid vehicle to be rated as the UK’s most satisfying car in a survey conducted by J.D. Power and Associates and What Car? Magazine. The Prius rated in with a score of 868 points, equaling the Lexus IS sedan, which also came in first.

Cars were scored on a points scale ranging from 0 to 1000 points with more than 18,000 UK motorists taking part, Reuters reports. The survey evaluated up to 77 different attributes grouped into four main measurements of satisfaction. They included quality, reliability, vehicle appeal (performance, design, comfort and features), and finally, dealer service satisfaction and ownership costs.

Japanese brands once again dominated the top scorers, with Lexus coming out on top for the seventh year in a row. Surprisingly, Skoda made a strong showing with its Octavia and Fabia ranking fifth and seventh overall. Attributes that rated well for the Prius were its low daily running costs, high quality levels and excellent dealer service.

Follow the jump to see the five highest ranking vehicles and their scores.

1. Toyota Prius (868 points)
2. Lexus IS (also 868)
3. Honda Jazz (864)
4. Lexus RX (854)
5. Skoda Octavia (851)
