Brabus PowerXtra D6 Blue for Mercedes E300 Bluetec

The Mercedes-Benz E300 Bluetec is regarded as one of the cleanest diesel cars on the market but with just over 200hp (150kW) on board in standard trim there’s not much to get excited about. That’s where the guys at Brabus come in. The German tuner shows us that a powerful engine and eco-friendliness don’t have to be mutually exclusive.

Engineers have developed the new PowerXtra D6 Blue ECU mod. The new mapping system can also be joined with a stainless-steel sports exhaust system, a custom aerodynamic enhancement kit, 20in wheels and a fully adjustable air-suspension set-up.

After the conversion operation the engine produces 258hp (190kW) at 3,700 rpm. The engine’s torque grows by a healthy amount as well - between 1,600 and 2,400rpm the torque curve reaches a new high of 610Nm (450lb-ft), up from standard 540Nm (398lb-ft). This allows the modded E-Class to sprint from rest to 100km/h (62mph) in just 6.8 seconds and reach an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h (155mph).

Even with the extra performance the car still meets Euro V emissions standards due to roll in around 2011. This means the kit is also available in the U.S. and Canada where it’s offered on the E320 Bluetec.

The interior of the car can also be dressed up with a range of products that includes stainless-steel scuff plates with an illuminated Brabus logo, various types of ergonomically shaped sport steering wheels, and custom Mastik leather and Alcantara trim.
