Just yesterday we saw what the Blue Oval has planned for its own Ford and Lincoln brands and today we have a preview of what’s destined to be one of the hottest cars on show in Vegas, the 2010 Lexus IS 350C by Fox Marketing. The Texas-based tuner is no stranger to the Lexus IS range, having already modified a 2009 Lexus IS-F to the tune of 600 horsepower. For the IS 350C, however, Fox Marketing has gone for a milder 405 horsepower output, which is brought about with the addition of a supercharger running at just 6 psi. Other performance modifications include 14 inch Lexus F-Sport brakes with six piston calipers, adjustable coilover suspension and a brace. The wheels are 20 inch forged units wrapped with Toyo tires. To set the car apart from the standard IS C, Fox Marketing also added a cream white interior, a striking green paint scheme, and a full bodykit with fender flares and carbon-fiber accessories. The 2009 SEMA Auto Show will kick off on November 3 in Las Vegas. [Fox Marketing] Read More

The range-topping model is the Stage 3 Mustang, which Roush will be limited to just 103 units for 2010. The Stage 3 package features a upper billet grille, a full bodykit, four-piston calipers biting 14-inch brake discs and 18-inch chrome wheels as standard (20-inch wheels are optional). Inside, designers have also gone over the top with full leather seats featuring the embroidered signature of Jack Roush, illuminated skid plates, a short-throw shifter and custom badging. Pricing for the Stage 3 kit starts at $59,945. One of the performance bargains of the year would have to be the 540RH package, which gets the same potent powertrain as the Stage 3 Mustang but is priced from $46,145. Other elements include a new suspension package, rear spoiler and a short-throw shifter. Read More
  • Lotus USA now offering supercharger kits for standard Elise, Exige

Lotus USA now offering supercharger kits for standard Elise, Exige The power-to-lightness ratio of the naturally-aspirated Lotus Elise and Exige models has never been found lacking, being some of the most competent street/track cars available today. But for those that would like a little more grunt with their grace, Lotus Cars USA is now offering the same kit available on the Lotus Elise SC as a standalone upgrade for existing Elise and Exige owners.

The kit uses the same supercharger and integrated intake manifold as the production Elise SC, and can be installed on any Elise or Exige with the Toyota 2ZZ-GE engine. The power-to-lightness ratio of the naturally-aspirated Lotus Elise and Exige models has never been found lacking, being some of the most competent street/track cars available today. Power output is increased from the standard 189hp to 218hp when the kit is applied in conjunction with new high-flow fuel injectors and a reprogrammed ECU. Fitting the extra power bits into the Elise's already tight mid-engine bay is no doubt a feat of engineering, so the availability of the factory-engineered piece will be a welcome addition to many Lotus-filled garages. More than just raw power, however, the upgrade lifts torque output to 155lb-ft and moves the torque peak down to a much more available and enjoyable 5,000rpm from the 6,800rpm naturally-aspirated peak. That will give the Elise and Exige much more stoplight potential as well as better part-throttle response in real-world driving conditions. “Lotus Elise and Exige owners are genuine driving enthusiasts and that’s what has attracted them to Lotus cars in the first place,” said Lotus Cars USA Director of Operations Arnie Johnson. “They will fully appreciate the dramatically enhanced driving character these Lotus Supercharger Kits will bring their vehicles and the peace of mind from a fully warranted, factory engineered kit.” Pricing hasn't been released yet, but the kit is available for purchase and installation at all U.S. and Canadian authorized Lotus dealers. The stylish CTS Coupe, which was first presented in concept form at last year’s Detroit Auto Show, and then confirmed for production in GM’s viability presentation earlier this year, will hit the streets in the middle of next year as a 2011 model and will now be offered with the CTS-V option. "As of now the V package is planned only for the sedan and coupe," Lutz wrote. This means the car is likely to pack the same 556hp and 551lb-ft of torque supercharged 6.2L V8 found in the regular CTS-V Sedan. Lutz went on to hint at the possibility of a CTS-V version of the upcoming CTS Sport Wagon. Lutz said that if the demand exists, "there is no reason why we couldn't do a V-Series wagon, and I would be standing in line for one, just ahead of you."Cadillac CTS Coupe2009 Cadillac CTS-V Read More

Jaguar releases mega-gallery for 2010 XJ saloon Though the current Jaguar XJ is only about 7 years old - a pretty typical vehicle lifespan - the body styling is derivative of the same basic shape that's been around since the 1970s, causing many to think the car lacked technical sophistication despite an all-aluminum chassis and an impressive spec sheet. Though the current Jaguar XJ is only about 7 years old - a pretty typical vehicle lifespan - the body styling is derivative of the same basic shape that's been around since the 1970s, causing many to think the car lacked technical sophistication despite an all-aluminum chassis and an impressive spec sheet. Today, after several leaked images were revealed yesterday, Jaguar has released official images and information for its all-new, redesigned 2010 Jaguar XJ. Borrowing traits from the new Jaguar aesthetic first demonstrated on the XF sedan, the 2010 XJ is definitely not stuck in the past. Details reminiscent of the Aston Martin Rapide are also evident, though the XJ's long lines and expansive profile are unique enough to set the car apart at a glance. A low, sloping roofline gives the XJ a four-door coupe look, while the black D-pillar gives a 'floating roof' effect from the rear, and a huge glass sunroof lets abundant light into the cabin to help improve the sense of space and counter the low-slung roof. The rear is sure to draw both fans and critics; its vertical tail lights and tall deck are love-'em or hate-'em details. Inside, the decidedly stuffy interior of the current XJ is replaced with a much more modern cockpit featuring a pop-up transmission control interface, laser-inlaid wood trim, a leather headliner and a new instrument panel that abandons traditional dials in favor of a high-definition screen that displays all the information the driver needs. A unique feature enabled by the new high-def instrument panel is a soft red glow used to indicate performance driving modes. Under the hood, the new V8 found in the XF will be the central player, though Europeans will also get a 3.0L V6 turbodiesel. The 5.0L V8 engine will be available in a naturally-aspirated base form rated at 385hp, while a supercharged variant will pump out 470hp and an even higher-performance 510hp version for the Supersport edition will also be available. Only one transmission - a paddle-shifted six-speed auto - will be available, hustling the standard XJ to 60mph in 5.4 seconds, or slingshotting the Supersport version to the same speed in a mere 4.7 seconds. Suspension dynamics are controlled via air springs, with computer-controlled settings of Normal, Dynamic and Winter. Like its predecessor, the new XJ makes extensive use of aluminum, weighing in at a mere 3,800lb in its lightest trim or up to 4,300lb at its heaviest. That's still 500-1000lbs lighter than most of the competition. The combination of light weight and a powerful engine will make for a solid performer but also for surprisingly good fuel economy if our experience with the current-gen XJ Super V8 is any indication. The new XJ can be ordered now with sales to officially open in December for early 2010 delivery. Prices start from an MSRP of $72,500 for the base 5.0L V8, $87,500 for the XJ Supercharged and from $112,000 for the XJ Supersport.2010 Jaguar XJUnveiling of the 2010 Jaguar XJ Sedan Read More
