The Transformers movies have been one of the major co-branding successes of recent years, and General Motors is using it for all it's worth, today releasing a new 2010 Chevrolet Camaro TRANSFORMERS Special Edition.

Exclusively an appearance package, the TRANSFORMERS kit can be had on both the LT and SS models. It focuses on a black stripes on yellow layout - like the Bumblebee Camaro from the movies - and also includes an AUTOBOT shield on both door panels, the wheel caps and embroidered into the center console. Transformers logos on the side sill plates and embedded into the black rally stripes complete the look.

It turns out weaving in and out of traffic, even when in a controlled environment, can be dangerous. Todays accident injured 9 people after the BMW X5 driven by Laura Conti struck a parked car and jumped the curb, reports the AP. No one was seriously hurt, but the second accident in as many days has people on the set speculating about a possible 'curse'. Yesterday's accident involved much more property damage. Running quickly through traffic on wet asphalt down the middle of New York's Times Square, the F430 simply lost traction at the rear and slowly spun about 90 degrees as the driver tried to regain control. Unable to stop in time on the compromised surface, the car ran up the curb and made impact with a pole and the front of a store. All of the cars involved were part of the movie shoot. General Motors has released a new video showcasing the vehicles that will star as the Autobots in the upcoming sequel to last year’s Transformers movie. The new movie will be called Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and it is set to open across the U.S. on June 26.

The latest teaser clip shows a total of different Chevrolet vehicles as well as the Optimus Prime truck and a smaller GMC Topkick pickup.

The Chevrolet Autobots featured in the clip include the recently revealed Corvette Stingray concept (Sideswipe), Chevrolet Beat (Skids), Chevrolet Trax (Mudflap), Chevrolet Volt (Jolt), and the upcoming Chevrolet Camaro (Bumblebee).... Today General Motors revealed details on the upcoming Chevrolet-branded Autobots "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" movie. Making their debuts at the 2009 Chicago Auto Show are Bumblebee, a Camaro-based Autobot, Sideswipe (Corvette Stingray Concept) and Skids/Mudflap (Chevy Beat concept).

The Corvette Stingray concept is at this point solely a design exercise, not foreshadowing a production vehicle, though talk of the upcoming C7 Corvette has been circulating for some time.
