Mansory Goes Carbon-Crazy With The Porsche Cayenne Chopster

In the world of high-end car modification, there's extreme, there's insane, and then there's Mansory. But anyone that's actually been inside a Mansory vehicle knows the attention to detail and craftsmanship that goes into their over-the-top designs--they reek of quality. So the chopped, dropped and almost completely carbon fiber Porsche Chopster isn't really that out of the ordinary--for Mansory, anyway.

So the chopped, dropped and almost completely carbon fiber Porsche Chopster isn't really that out of the ordinary--for Mansory, anyway. Oddly enough, the Chopster isn't a pure Mansory vehicle--it's one of the first fruits of Mansory's purchase of Rinspeed's Porsche tuning arm, which happened last November. Nevertheless, the gang at Mansory has had time to put their own spin on the idea, and it shows in the detail shots. While the first generation of the Chopster made its debut last March at the Geneva Motor Show, a new iteration of the heavily modified SUV has now made an appearance on the eve of this month’s 2009 Frankfurt auto show. In addition to the body mods, which widen the vehicle by 80 mm, the Chopster gets a number of performance upgrades, including boosted braking power with some enormous 420 mm rotors up front and 375 mm units in the rear. That much braking power might seem like overkill, but the pizza-pan rotors will barely look normal inside the massive 23x11 inch wheels--and the Cayenne is a big vehicle, after all. Plus, once you get the 710 horsepower turbocharged V-8 under the hood wound up, you might just be glad for all that stopping power. Once it's back under control, however, 665 pound-feet of torque will kick the show back into high gear in no time. Top speed is a claimed 188 mph. The interior gets any number of totally customizable elements as well, with the show car sporting a refrigerator, DVD player, internet-enabled laptop, head-rest monitor screens and more. Just about anything a customer can dream of, Mansory will do. As for pricing, as the saying goes: if you have to ask, you probably can't afford it. Read More

Mega gallery: Mansory's 1,100hp Vincero Bugatti Veyron Customized Bugatti Veyrons are almost as common as the cars themselves, which is to say not common at all. But this particular car, modified by Mansory, is less common than even most other custom Veyrons. In March, at the Geneva Motor Show, the modified Veyron was put on display for the first time and officials from Mansory let loose full details about the car, including its mammoth 1,109hp (827kW) power output. Today, we have a new mega-gallery of photos straight from the company that show off the car in every exquisite, carbon-weave detail.

Customized Bugatti Veyrons are almost as common as the cars themselves, which is to say not common at all. Along with the huge power figure is an equally tall torque number: 967lb-ft (1,310Nm). That should be enough to erase a few tenths off the already-world-class mid-2 second 0-60mph (96km/h) time for the Veyron. The extra power comes by way of improved intake and exhaust systems plus attendant engine tuning. Eschewing the popular matte-color trend of late, the Mansory Vincero is pure gloss from stem to stern. Largely blacked out, but with a sprinkling of chrome accents in the grille and a dark chrome treatment along the side of the car across the front fenders and door panels, the Vincero certainly lives up to its name. LED accents in the headlights and fully custom forged wheels finish off the exterior treatment with attention to detail. Inside the car gets a typically Mansory two-tone black and white treatment, though the addition of a woven element makes for a unique touch. Ambient lighting and custom shift paddles on the steering wheel complete the package. An extra dose of naked carbon fiber across the front bonnet and rear engine cover, plus the rear fascia and diffuser gives the Vincero the look of the Sang Noir, though it is not the basis for this custom car. Only 15 of the Sang Noir special-editions were built, however, so it's enough that this car is styled to look somewhat alike. For those that would like to investigate the matter in person, or just happen to have several million unused dollars lying about, the car is on sale exclusively at Prestige Cars in the United Arab Emirates. Bring an extra $1 million in addition to the purchase price of your Veyron, though, because that's what the Vincero upgrades will cost you.Mansory Vincero custom Bugatti Veyron Read More

Ever since Mansory acquired the former Porsche performance division of Swiss design firm Rinspeed, the Bavarian tuner has been releasing a slew of new models based around Porsche’s various models. Last week’s Geneva Motor Show saw several of the beasts unveiled, including the out-of-this-world Cayenne Chopster, but the list of cars just keeps on growing. Today we have details about a new package based on the 997 Porsche 911. The program mainly focuses on improvements concerning the aerodynamics, engine performance and handling of this sports car icon, but as with any Mansory product the cars can be designed to meet a customer’s every whim. When developing the 911 program, Mansory engineers attached great importance to an individual design but also aerodynamic efficiency. The core part of the bodykit is a lift-reducing front bumper. In connection with the hood, this bumper offers various design possibilities. A matching rear bumper is also available, and accommodates a new quad-pipe exhaust system. Performance modifications have been kept to a minimum, consisting of only a sports air filter and high-flow exhaust system. Interestingly, this exhaust system has an electronically-controlled valve system that allows drivers to modify sound levels should the need arise – we’re thinking when the boys in blue pull up. Round out the list of modifications are a 30mm suspension lowering kit and 20in wheels shod with Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Inside, customers can select a fully custom leather package, as well as aluminum and carbon-fiber trim.Mansory 997 Porsche 911 Read More

Mansory tones it down for Porsche Cayenne ‘955’ performance kit In the world of high-end car modification, there's extreme, there's insane, and then there's Mansory. But every now and then a tuner has to release something just a little ordinary to prove that it hasn’t completely lost the plot. That’s where Mansory 955 kit for the facelifted Porsche Cayenne steps in.

  • Power and prestige underscore Mansory’s latest working of the Bentley Continental GT Speed

Power and prestige underscore Mansory’s latest working of the Bentley Continental GT Speed German tuner Mansory chose the Geneva Motor Show to unveil its latest customization effort, a reworked Bentley Continental GT Speed. The modifications consist of both engine and aerodynamic changes, and give the car a sportier than the originally understated Bentley and plenty of extra power to match the aggressive lines.

Custom front and rear aprons join the sideskirts together, aiding airflow over the car’s silhouette and thus improving the handling by increasing downforce. A new rear lip mounted to the boot lid adds even more downforce into the mix, not that the 2,400kg behemoth needed any more convincing to stay on the ground.

A new rear lip mounted to the boot lid adds even more downforce into the mix, not that the 2,400kg behemoth needed any more convincing to stay on the ground. Under the hood, Mansory has tinkered with the GT Speed’s 6.0L force-fed W12 engine and lifted power to 685hp (511kW) from the GT Speed's original figure of 610hp (455kW). The rise in power comes from a new exhaust system with four angular chrome tailpipes, giving the rear of the car a sportier appearance. Meanwhile, a new sports air filter and adjustments to the ECU result in 656lb-ft (890Nm) of torque - almost 111lb-ft (150Nm) more than the original. Together, these modifications are said to help the GT Speed reach a new top speed of around 216mph. At the corners, custom allow wheels developed by Mansory use weight-saving aluminum. The car also benefits from an air suspension control unit, helping it sit even lower to the ground. Inside, the usual leather-swathed appointments have been fitted but as with any Mansory creation almost every aspect of the car can be changed to suit a customer’s demands.Mansory Bentley Continental GT Speed Read More
