The all-new 2010 BMW Z4 is still on its way to most showrooms around the globe but the guys at G-Power have already had one in their workshop for some time now and have managed to develop several new mods for the car. When it comes to extreme performance mods for BMW cars, G-Power is one of the best and already has a number of top-speed records under its belt. Since the Z4 tuning program is still in its infancy, G-Power’s new upgrades could be considered very mild when compared to its previous creations. Nevertheless, there are still some interesting enhancements available for the stylish Z4 Roadster. First up is a new ‘Bi-Tronik’ ECU upgrade for the range-topping sDrive35i model. This pushes power of the car’s 3.0L twin-turbocharged six from 306hp (228kW) to 345hp (257kW) and torque from 295lb-ft (400Nm) to 354lb-ft (480Nm). To enhance the sound emanating from the car G-Power also offers its ‘Deeptone’ stainless steel muffler. This is followed by a set of 20in alloy wheels and a fully-adjustable coil-over suspension kit with nine different settings. Naturally the performance figures benefit from this output improvement. Accelerating from stand still to 100km/h now takes just 4.7 seconds. Stay tuned for much more extreme performance mods as development work continues.G-Power BMW Z4 Roadster Read More

When it comes to BMW tuning, there is one company that stands head and shoulders above the rest in cranking out the ultimate driving machines. The company we are referring to German outfit G-Power, which has been in the business of creating the world's fastest BMWs for a quarter of a century, including the recently unveiled 228mph M6 Coupe. Now, G-Power has finally unveiled a new performance upgrade for the M3, and with some serious performance mods in place the new car promises to be even more sublime than the standard model on which it’s based. While a M3 bought from the dealership already has a fairly potent 420hp (312kW) under the hood, G-Power's engineers have taken the car into true supercar territory with a new supercharger system that raises the final power output to a heady 500hp (373kW). Using relatively soft charging of just 4.4psi (0.3bar) boost from the T1-518 ASA centrifugal supercharger (the same system used in certain Alpina models), G-Power claims that its M3 constantly provides around 20% more torque than the standard model. The sueprcharger system also uses a large volume air box, including eight lightweight integral resonance induction pipes, which are responsible for improved throttle response and creating an optimal torque curve. Finally, the supercharger system is completed by the large air-to-air intercooler that is located up front and cools the boost temperature down for added performance and reliability. The result of the new performance system gives the G-Power M3 a top speed in excess of 200mph, while the sprint to 124mph is dispensed within just 13.5 seconds - more than two seconds quicker than the stock M3. Custom wheels and Michelin sport tires help put the power down onto the road, along with a new continuously height-adjustable G-Power coil-over suspension system with nine settings to help the BMW more effectively use that extra power. Additionally, G-Power offers a new sports rear muffler to give the M3 a deeper roar, and also lighten the car's final weight by close to 15kg. Capping off the upgrades is a new interior, decked out in carbon-fiber panels, a custom G-Power speedo that goes up to 223mph, aluminum pedals and tailor made leather seats.G-Power Tornado based on the BMW M3 Read More
  • G-Power Hurricane CS is world’s fastest BMW coupe with 370km/h top speed

G-Power Hurricane CS is world’s fastest BMW coupe with 370km/h top speed The G-Power name has become synonymous with extreme BMWs and the company’s latest Hurricane CS based on the M6 Coupe fits in perfectly with that description. After G-Power’s own M5-based Hurricane RS broke the world record for the fastest sedan with a top speed of 367.4km/h (228mph), the German tuner decided to shoehorn the same record-breaking powerplant into BMW’s M6 Coupe. The end result is the all-new G-Power M6 Hurricane CS.

Powered by a twin-supercharged version of the legendary high-rev BMW M V10, the Hurricane CS develops up to 750hp (522kW) and 590lb-ft (800Nm) of torque and has a recorded top speed of 367.4km/h... To reach this level of performance, engineers needed to install the company’s belt-driven ASA T1-316 superchargers, each providing charge air for one cylinder bank and able to increase the volume of charge air by up to 25%. However, at this level, the engine would theoretically be developing up to 900hp (671kW). The inner workings of the ten-cylinder four-valve engine are also optimized with forged pistons from Mahle that reduce compression. They have been precisely matched for weight and are much stronger than their production counterparts. The production piston rods and pins also had to make way for special components that can handle the much higher forces. Further characteristics of the car are the multipart widebody kit, high performance carbon-ceramic brakes, fully adjustable suspension kit and last but not least oversized 21in wheels wrapped with Michelin rubber. While most of the parts used on the Hurricane CS are available individually, G-Power also sells the package as a complete car starting at €360,000.G-Power Hurricane BMW M5 RSG-Power Hurricane CS based on the BMW M6 Read More

German tuner G-Power is known for its lack of restraint when it comes to modifying BMWs – the firm’s modified M5 currently holds the title of the world's fastest street-legal sedan. Now, G-Power has turned its focus to another BMW stablemate, the X5 SUV. Known as the Typhoon, the modified BMW X5 has had a number of both aerodynamic and mechanical upgrades installed to make it match the other G-Power creations we've seen over the years. On the aerodynamic front, new fender flares and strikingly styled aprons and spoilers feature at the front and back. The curved fender flares on the front and rear axle come complete with matching fender liners and add a full 7cm to the width of the X5 - thus creating the space necessary for extra-wide wheels and tires. Other aerodynamic modifications include large air ducts that make the vehicle look more aggressive while improving cooling to the engine and brakes. The top-end version of the Typhoon features 23in wheels at the front and back, which were custom developed for the vehicle. The wheels themselves are shod in high-performance Michelin tires. Under the hood, a much more powerful engine than even the standard 4.8L V8. Working with ASA Engineering, a world-renowned engineering firm and OEM supplier of high-tech superchargers, G-Power has developed a supercharger system that increases power output of the engine to 525hp (386kW) at 6,100rpm and boosts peak torque to 600Nm at 5,300rpm. Other adjustments include a new intercooler and a high performance exhaust system with racing catalysts. All the engine work gives the ungainly BMW X5 SUV certain sports-car capabilities, including the ability to sprint from rest to 62mph in just 6.2 seconds, with 124mph coming up after just 18.4 seconds. Meanwhile, top speed is now 170mph (275 km/h). Inside, the Typhoon's cockpit can be upgraded with accessories such as an ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel, a Typhoon-design speedometer and a number of sporty aluminum accessories.BMW X5 Typhoon by G-Power Read More
  • New images for G-Power’s title holder of 'World's Fastest Street-Legal Sedan'

New images for G-Power’s title holder of 'World's Fastest Street-Legal Sedan' The gloves are off in the battle to produce the world's fastest street-legal sedan, and the competition is getting hotter as German tuning giants Brabus and G-Power practice a game of one-upmanship. First, G-Power unveiled its 225mph (360km/h) Hurricane M5, based on the BMW M5. That car used a pair of blowers on the M5's V10 to lift power by almost 50% to 730 horses.

Then Brabus came out with the Rocket, based on the Mercedes CLS but with a bored out, twin-turbo V12 that propelled the car to 227mph (365.7km/h) much to the consternation of G-Power. Then, late last year, G-Power reclaimed the title for the world's fastest street-legal sedan... Then Brabus came out with the Rocket, based on the Mercedes CLS but with a bored out, twin-turbo V12 that propelled the car to 227mph (365.7km/h) much to the consternation of G-Power. Then, late last year, G-Power reclaimed the title for the world's fastest street-legal sedan with the unveiling its new G-Power Hurricane M5 'RS'. The RS takes power in G-Power’s standard Hurricane M5 from an already lofty 730hp to an even more insane 750 horses. With just a 20hp increase, the Hurricane RS was able to wrestle the title for fastest sedan back from Brabus, posting a top speed of 228.3mph (367.4km/h) at its test track. The extra 20 horses were found by increasing the boost levels on the turbochargers, however according to G-Power there is further room to up the boost - something the company may have to do once Brabus unveils its next super-sedan in the hopes of reclaiming the record.G-Power Hurricane BMW M5 RS Read More
  • G-Power modified BMW M3 cranks out 635hp

G-Power modified BMW M3 cranks out 635hp A high-revving, sweet-sounding V8 is a marvelous thing, and BMW's 4.0L V8 in the M3 is a capital example. The tuners at G-Power weren't satisfied with the factory-supplied 414hp (309kW), and decided to strap on a supercharger and boost output to a tire-vaporizing 635hp (473kW). About what you'd expect from the holders of the 'World's fastest street-legal sedan' title.

The argument for adding the forced induction was to give the high-strung V8 some more low-end grunt as well as boost overall performance. Of course, if you'd prefer a naturally aspirated 550hp V10 from the M5 in your M3, G-Power will also be glad to oblige. And they'll even... A high-revving, sweet-sounding V8 is a marvelous thing, and BMW's 4.0L V8 in the M3 is a capital example. And they'll even throw a supercharger on that, boosting power to 730hp. Those figures are all the extremes of tuning, however. G-Power does offer some less frenetic options as well, starting with the EVO I kit that adds 103hp, bringing the total to 517hp (386kW). This is done with a supercharger/intercooler setup, new enlarged fuel injectors to feed the hungry engine, an optimized stainless steel exhaust system and new electronics. The EVO II system does essentially the same as EVO I, but with an additional 24hp, bumping the final result to 541hp (404kW). To make the jump to the EVO III system, G-Power adds a totally different supercharger system, a new cold air intake and a racing air filter. Helping out the improved airflow is a higher-capacity air-to-water intercooler, plus lighter pistons with a reduced 10.3:1 compressions ratio and strengthened connecting rods to withstand the extra stress. For those wanting a palpable performance gain without such intrusive modification, G-Power also offers engine tuning services. The base-level G1 treatment gains 21hp (15kW), while the G1 Plus SII tune replaces the catalysts with high-flow units, swaps in a new exhaust and adds sport air filters for a total of 43hp (32kW) gain. All G-Power M3s - whether the engines are tuned or not - can be equipped with the Highline aerodynamic kit. Consisting of styled and aerodynamically active carbon fiber replacement pieces for the entire lower section - front and rear fascias, side skirts and diffuser - plus the trunk lid and a spoiler, the kits promise better cooling and improved appearance. Finishing off the G-Power performance treatment is a range of alloy wheel choices, upgraded brake systems, up to 25mm lowering springs and optional coil-overs, strut braces and anti-roll bars. Inside, the buyer can choose from a wide array of G-Power branded accessories, including a carbon fiber interior, replacement pedal sets, gear shift knobs, and hand brake accents.G-Power E92 BMW M3 Read More
