  • Chip Foose builds custom Mustang for fan contest

Chip Foose builds custom Mustang for fan contest Few names get the kind of respect in their field that Chip Foose's gets in the realm of car design and custom hot rods. That's why fans are excited to see he'll be giving away a custom 2010 Mustang GT to the winner of a free contest.

The car's build sheet reads like a sponsor dream list, with Magnaflow exhaust, Edelbrock supercharger, Bilstein shocks, Eibach springs, Royal Purple lubricants and Roush body work. It was actually built by Foost as part of Spike TV's MuscleCar series.

The contest is being run through Spike's PowerblockTV site, where those interested in getting their hands on a Foose original for no money down, $0 a month can... Vin Diesel shows up at Fast & Furious premiere in Eibach Dodge Challenger When rolling up to the premiere of the latest instalment of one of the biggest car movie franchises in recent history, what better car is there than the Dodge Challenger? Okay, maybe there are plenty of better options but considering the nature of the new Fast & Furious movie and Vin Diesel’s character in the flick, we think the Challenger was entirely appropriate for the event.

Okay, maybe there are plenty of better options but considering the nature of the new Fast & Furious movie and Vin Diesel’s character in the flick, we think the Challenger was entirely appropriate for the event. The premiere actually took place overnight in Germany and the car Diesel was driving was a specially tuned Dodge Challenger SRT8 prepared by Eibach. We’ve actually seen this car before as it has made appearances at several tuning shows, including last year’s SEMA and Essen Motor Show. While no mechanical changes have been made to the car’s 425hp (317kW) HEMI V8, Eibach has added a set of its Multi-Pro R2 coilovers and enormous 22in wheels wrapped in 265mm Toyo Proxes tires. In the movie Diesel plays the role of high-speed junky Dom Toretto, who favors old-school muscle cars over the highly tuned Japanese sports cars that feature mostly. After getting out of the Eibach Challenger at the premiere, he described it as a “nice car”. If you haven’t seen the trailer for the fourth instalment of the Fast and the Furious series, check out the video below or wait until the actual movie opens at U.S. screens on April 3.Eibach Dodge Challenger at Essen Motor ShowFast and Furious 4 trailer 3 Read More
  • Eibach Dodge Challenger debuts at Essen Motor Show

Eibach Dodge Challenger debuts at Essen Motor Show The 2008 SEMA show featured no shortage of customized Dodge Challengers, and for good reason - the has been a rather solid success in the U.S., at least in SRT8 form, especially considering Chrysler's other woes. It appears that Europeans are at least open to the car as well, if this Eibach-modified example is any indication.

Noting that the historical weak spot of American muscle is the handling department, Eibach focused its efforts on suspension and grip rather than generating more than the factory-specified 425hp (317kW). The key changes are a set of Eibach System Multi-Pro R2 coilovers and a set of enormous 22in rims wrapped in Toyo... The key changes are a set of Eibach System Multi-Pro R2 coilovers and a set of enormous 22in rims wrapped in Toyo Proxes T1R tires at 265/30 sizing. Aesthetically, the Eibach Challenger is a striking car, with the factory orange accented by twin black racing stripes, race-oriented graphics (including a Dukes of Hazzard-style '01' number on the side of the car), a full-on interior treatment with more brilliant orange splashed about, and a custom Alpine DVD-capable flat screen entertainment system. The car is so far intended only as a display of Eibach's capabilities, but since the company converted the Challenger's lighting and other elements for German licensing, there is the possibility of small-volume production.Eibach Dodge Challenger at Essen Motor Show Read More
