The cost of the 725hp (540kW) package is $33,495, plus a 2010 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500
Enlarge PhotoStarting with the GT500 Coupe donor car, Shelby adds a new supercharger to the 5.4L DOHC V8 and boosts power up to 725hp (540kW). Other modifications include an upgraded intercooler and radiator, a cold air intake, and a high-flow JBA exhaust system. A milder 630hp (470kW) version, which replaces the JBA exhaust with a Borla cat-back unit, is also available.
Handling improvements come courtesy of a Ford Racing suspension with adjustable dampers, stiffer springs, thicker antiroll bars, a front strut tower brace and custom 20in Super Snake wheels shod with Pirelli P-Zero tires. Stopping power comes from Baer six-piston front calipers with cross drilled and ventilated discs.
To ensure the car stands out from the crowd when off the track, Shelby’s engineers have also fitted a new hood with an oversized scoop and vents, racing stripes, rear quarter window scoops, and carbon-fiber splitter and side sills. Inside, the headrests feature embroidered Shelby logos and carbon-fiber faced gauge faces.
Pricing for the Super Snake package starts at $29,495 for the 630hp (470kW) model and $33,495 for the 725hp (540kW) kit, which includes installation at Shelby Automobiles’ Las Vegas facility or at a Shelby authorized workshop. The first customer cars will be modified this August.

The 550hp (405kW) Shelby SR package is based on the previous 2005 to 2009 Ford Mustang GT.

Meet the top commenters on the LeaderboardCan't wait to see(and especially hear!) the new 'Snake in person. There's a couple previous-gen Super Snakes around here, along with all the requisite "standard" GT500s running around.
"Standard" GT500, I like that. That is a monster in it's own right, but a pussycat compared to this thing...
Sooo, close to $79,000 for a mustang? Hmm. I give them brownie points for doing it I guess.
