Ayrton Senna's life, and death, to receive film treatment

Few drivers in the history of Formula 1 are as highly regarded as Ayrton Senna, who despite a life cut tragically short, still managed to capture three F1 world championships. Now a movie documenting his life, his career, and his death has gotten the green light from his family.

The movie will be produced by Working Title Films, the British production company that produced 'Fargo' and 'The Big Lebowski', and 'Atonement', among many others. The film won't just focus on his death - the issue has been analyzed under a microscope for the past 15 years - but will instead take in his entire F1 career as a driver, from its start in 1984 to its sudden end at Imola in 1994.

Fans of Senna and F1 alike will no doubt find ample reason to see the film, especially with Formula One Management (FOM) promising footage that's never been included in a film before. The film will also support the Ayrton Senna Institute, which helps to fund educations for underprivileged Brazilian children.

The film starts shooting next month - a month that starts with the 15th anniversary of his May 1, 1994 death.
