Daimler denies vote on Mercedes F1 future

December 31st, 1969 Feb.3 (GMM) An official spokesman has denied reports that Mercedes-Benz's F1 programme only narrowly survived a vote of the Daimler AG board. The German news magazine Focus last Sunday said the management board recently voted three to two in favour of prolonging Mercedes' 13-year collaboration with McLaren. "There was no voting by the Daimler board of management concerning formula one," a Daimler spokesman said. "Apart from this it is correct that we continue our commitment."
