Spy shots: Long-wheelbase 2010 Peugeot 3008

December 31st, 1969 Peugeot is nearing competition of a new compact crossover model that it plans to launch in the first half of this year. The car is the 2010 Peugeot 3008, which was spotted recently testing in Europe completely undisguised and now once again in its long-wheelbase form. While the standard model will be able to seat five adults, the stretched model will be a seven-seater. The rear bench, however, is likely to be only suitable for children and small adults. Expect to see it make its debut at September’s Frankfurt Motor Show, with the standard model to debut at March’s Geneva event. Peugeot previewed the upcoming crossover with its Prologue HYmotion concept vehicle that was showcased at the Paris Motor Show, and as expected the production version hasn’t strayed far from the design of the concept. These most recent photos confirm the spy shots taken in November of last year, and reveal that the car's interior is also essentially production-ready. The 3008 based on a modified version of the 308 platform and as such its engine lineup will be almost the same as the popular hatch. This means the 3008 will be available with a base 1.6L petrol engine, as well as a 1.6L turbo and a range-topping 2.2L turbodiesel. As indicated by the Prologue HYmotion concept, an advanced diesel-electric hybrid option could be released in the next couple of years.2010 Peugeot 3008 Spy shots January 20092010 Peugeot 3008 LWB spy shots
